Divorce

Divorce is the process where by parties to a marriage, or either party separately, make a decision that the marriage has come to an end.

In order to obtain a divorce order from the court, parties have to be separated for a period of 12 months. Furthermore, if as of the date of filing for divorce you have been married for less than 2 years, there is a mandatory requirement for both parties to attend family counseling prior to the filing of divorce.

Property Division

Khalil Family Lawyers can assist you in the following;

  • The initial stages following separation which involve providing initial advice in relation to family law property settlements, negotiating with the other party in an attempt to obtain an early resolution of the matter, participating in the exercise of providing full and frank financial disclosure and if agreement reached, entering into Consent Orders of a Financial Agreements formalising the Agreement

  • If required, all representation in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, or the Family Court Australia, for Court based applications for a division of property interests under section 79 of the Family Law Act 1975(Cth);

Parenting
